A Targeted Option for Stubborn Tendon Pain

Shockwave therapy uses externally applied acoustic energy. Vector Spine and Sport offers focused and radial systems for selected chronic tendon and soft-tissue conditions after an examination.

Two delivery methods. One plan selected around tissue, depth, diagnosis, and tolerance.
CONDITIONS CONSIDERED

Best suited to a defined clinical problem.

Shockwave is not a general treatment for every painful area. Dr. Reesor first evaluates the condition, previous care, tissue involved, and factors that may affect safety or response.

  • Plantar heel pain

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Patellar tendinopathy

  • Tennis or golfer’s elbow

  • Selected rotator cuff conditions

  • Calcific tendon problems

  • Persistent muscle or soft-tissue pain

  • Other overuse injuries after evaluation

FOCUSED VS. RADIAL

Different Energy Patterns for Different Treatment Goals

Focused shockwave

Delivers energy toward a more defined target and may be chosen for selected deeper structures or localized conditions.

Radial pressure wave

Disperses pressure more broadly near the surface and may be used across a wider soft-tissue area.

Clinical selection

The device, settings, treatment area, and number of visits depend on the diagnosis, examination, comfort, and response.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE

Brief pulses with adjustable intensity.

Patients commonly describe a rapid tapping or pulsing sensation. Intensity can be adjusted during the session. Temporary soreness, redness, bruising, or sensitivity may occur. Improvement is not guaranteed, and meaningful change may take time.

Screening matters. Shockwave may be avoided or modified around pregnancy, malignancy in the treatment area, acute infection, certain bleeding or clotting risks, impaired sensation, open growth plates, or other clinical concerns.

QUESTIONS

Before Shockwave Treatment

There is no universal number. The plan depends on the condition, duration, severity, protocol, and response. Your progress should be reassessed rather than promised in advance.

No. The treatment uses acoustic pressure waves, not an electrical current delivered into the body.

A clinical assessment is needed to confirm that the painful area and condition are suitable and to screen for contraindications.

Many people resume normal daily activity, but temporary soreness is possible and activity guidance varies with the condition. Follow the clinician’s recommendations.
